Keeping an eye on a deflating tyre

At some point in your life, you have probably had to deal with a deflated tyre. It may be that your tyre goes down very slowly over time and that you have a slow puncture or it may be that you come out to the car one morning to find its flat on the road. If this is the case, you still may only have a puncture but it may be more serious or you could not have noticed it going down gradually over time.

If you have even a slow puncture, it is worth taking it to a garage as soon as possible, they will be able to remove the tyre for you and check where the air is leaking from. Sometimes it may not be that the tyre is punctured but that the beading has gone around the tyre wall. It could also be an issue with the wheels not sealing properly against the wheel to make an air tight seal.

Any loss of air can cause the car to drive differently, braking can be affected and also it can cause damage to tyres is they are driven under-inflated. Regular checks can pick up issues quickly often before they become dangerous.
