This winter has been an extremely cold one and it is not due to settle down just yet with the worse temperatures we’ve had in five years expected this month. The cold weather can bring a number of issues to light on a car and can cause a lot of hassle for motorists trying to get their cars started in the early morning to get to work or take the children to school.
Often one of the issues motorists face with the cold weather is issues with their battery. If the battery is not working as it should then it may not hold the charge enough for you to start it next time. This is worsened by the cold weather and often requires the car to be jump started.
Other issues that you may experience in the bad weather is problems with the fuel. This is most common in diesel cars where the fuel can freeze in very low temperatures and therefore not pump around the system to start the car. It is always a good idea to keep your car topped up with fuel to avoid sucking the dregs of fuel in to your system but also to prevent it from freezing.
