The weather has been pretty awful over the last few weeks, but we are hopeful that over the next few weeks we will start to see a change and the weather should start to pick up.
It may be that as the UK starts to lift restrictions, you have decided to book a holiday within the UK. If you are going to be going on a long journey you need to ensure that your car is ready for the trip to try and avoid accidents or breakdowns.
Often, we know that there are certain checks we should make when coming in to the winter months and expecting snow and ice, but there are also some checks that you should make on your car in the summer months. With the weather warming up it is important to ensure that you always have the correct level of coolant in your vehicle as otherwise it can quickly overheat which can cause long-term damage. It is not always easy to check the coolant level yourself as often the bottle and level indicator is not in an easy position to read it. If this is the case then you should take it in to your local garage to ask them to check it for you.
During the summer months cars can very quickly get dirty with bird droppings, sap from trees and dust from the roads. The only way to remove this is by giving the car a good clean ideally at least once a week. Leaving this on a vehicle can damage the paint work.
