Part worn tyres

Replacing your cars tyres can be a costly business, particularly for sports cars and SUV’s. If you don’t keep an eye on your tyres, you could end up having to fork out for a new set at an awkward time. It’s easy to miss wear on the inside shoulder of the tyre, especially if your wheels are poorly aligned.

When it comes to buying tyres, it’s tempting to go for the budget option but this is not always the best choice. Budget tyres may not last as long as a decent brand and levels of grip may be lower, especially in poor driving conditions. If you don’t want to fork out for top brand tyres but don’t fancy taking the risk of budget ones, why not try some part worn tyres?

Often coming from countries like Germany, where tyre tread restrictions are stricter than the UK, part worn tyres are a great way to get a decent brand at a budget price. When buying part worn tyres, you’ll need to weigh up the price versus the amount of remaining tread but they should be priced accordingly. They’re also great for getting a car though MOT if you’re planning to sell it, as a decent brand of tyre on the car should make it more appealing to prospective buyers.
