Is it useful to have a dash cam

Dash cams have only really become popular over the last ten years. Prior to that no one really had a dash cam unless you were driving around in a police car! Unfortunately scams such as Crash for cash started to become a common occurrence on Britain’s roads. Many drivers worried how they could prove their innocence without having the footage to show the police, which is when dash cams really cam in to their own.

Although insurance companies have tried to crack down on the ‘crash for cash’ incidents that have been happening around the country, they are still unfortunately still taking place and the fraudsters are getting better at covering their tracks. Often without dash cam footage proving otherwise the innocent party was getting blamed for the accident and having a claim on their insurance not only for damage ot the vehicle but to the other driver too.

In the event of an accident it may take a few moments to even think about taking details, but with a dash cam you will likely have the details such as their number plate and make and model of the vehicle visible, as well as a recording of the incident
