We know that there are some things that we should not leave in our cars during hot weather but there are also items that should not be left in a vehicle in really cold weather and that could become damaged if left.
Electronic devices are common now in most cars whether it be a dashcam, phone or Bluetooth earpiece. In extreme cold conditions these devices can suffer damage to their batteries especially in freezing weather, so it is always best to bring them indoors when you leave the vehicle.
Many people carry a first aid kit in their vehicle containing a range of medicines and creams and although most will not be affected by the cold there are some specific medications that can be. One such medication is insulin. For someone with diabetes, insulin is quite literally a life-saver but if it freezes it becomes ineffective and therefore will not lower the blood sugar as it should.
Another product that people need to be careful about leaving in a freezing vehicle is any product in an aerosol can. Just as extreme hot conditions can cause aerosols to explode, freezing conditions can have the same effect so it is important to remove them from the vehicle during episodes of extreme cold.
